I reserve the right to change, add, remove, or otherwise modify my policies at any time without prior notice.

FAQs

  • Appointment preparation will vary depending on your service. For every service type, ensure that you have your intake and waiver forms completed prior to the appointment. For sugaring services, please read the “Pre and Post-Care Instructions for Sugaring” FAQ listed below. For yoga, wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move with ease and bring your yoga mat and any props you would like to use. For facials, please read the “Pre and Post-Care Instructions for Facials” FAQ listed below. If in doubt, just reach out!

  • The intake forms are robust to ensure that I am aware of any conditions, medications or potential contraindications for services. This allows me to make informed decisions for your health and safety.

For example, if you have been on Accutane (Isotretinoin) in the past 6 months, that contraindicates sugaring and chemical exfoliants.

  • I proudly partner with Botnia Skincare. I believe in the company, and this is the only skincare line that I personally use.

Botnia is a very conscientious company that is dedicated to combining sustainability with natural, powerful and organic skincare products. They take incredible pride in how they source and formulate everything they create. To learn more, check out their website Botnia Skincare.

  • Completing the waiver and intake forms prior to your appointment is, most importantly, to ensure your and my safety before, during and after services. Having these forms done prior to the appointment helps remove unnecessary delays that may affect your treatment length. Early form completion also allows me to research any potential conditions for contraindications. My goal is to complete administrative processes prior to your treatment; so that, your service is professional, safe and relaxing.

  • Pre-Care Instructions

    • Cleanse the area to be sugared with warm water and soap as close to the appointment time as possible.

    • After cleansing, do not apply any lotions, oils or other topical products to the area being sugared.

    • Accutane/Isotretinoin cannot be used within at least 6 months of a sugaring appointment. This applies to any sugaring on the whole body.

    • Discontinue use of Retin-A or other prescription retinoids for at least 30 days prior to a sugaring appointment. This only applies to the area being sugared; so, if you apply Retin-A to your face but are receiving a full-leg sugaring, there is no reason to discontinue use.

    • Discontinue over the counter retinoids and other forms of exfoliation (scrubs, chemical exfoliants such as AHAs, etc) for at least 7 days prior to the appointment. This only applies to the area being sugared.

    • Avoid sun exposure to the area being sugared for at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.

    • For an initial sugaring appointment, have at least 2-3 weeks of hair growth, and then book regular sugaring appointments every 4-6 weeks thereafter.

    Post-Care Instructions

    • After a sugaring appointment, avoid exfoliation scrubs and chemical exfoliants (such as AHAs) for 7 days. After 7 days, begin to apply gentle chemical/physical exfoliation weekly.

    • Keep the area clean and avoid applying any topical products for 24 hours (no lotions, serums, deodorants, etc). After 2 days, keep the area moisturized only applying non-comedogenic, fragrance and perfume free products.

    • Avoid excessive sweating and activities that can increase bacteria, such as an intense workout, sauna, hot tub, pools, ocean swim, etc. for at least 2 days.

    • Avoid shaving in between sugaring appointments.

    • Maintain consistency with your sugaring appointments booking them every 4-6 weeks.

  • I chose to remove gratuity from my business in an effort to provide clearer transparency on pricing, reduce any client stress around giving gratuity, and to remove any potential unconscious bias I may have around gratuity.

  • Sugaring is a form of hair removal that dates back hundreds of years and is often said to be a form of hair removal that Cleopatra used. Sugaring is a thick paste made from sugar, water, and lemon juice (that’s it!!). The sugar paste is applied to the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth and then removed in the direction of hair growth using a wrist flicking technique.

I have chosen to utilize sugaring because it is a more environmentally friendly service as it does not use dyes or harsh fragrances and produces less waste. There is also anecdotal evidence that suggests sugaring is less painful than waxing, is less damaging to the skin so it is better for sensitive skin, leads to less ingrown hairs, and can lead to hair loss permanency faster than waxing.

  • Yes, you can receive a sugaring service. If you are pregnant, please always check with your doctor if you have any concerns about a service. If you are menstruating, you need to ensure that you are wearing a tampon/menstrual cup. If you choose not to wear tampons/menstrual cups, please track your menstrual cycles and make your appointments based on when you are not actively menstruating or simply rebook your appointment for a later date.

*Please be advised that fluctuations in hormones during menstruation and pregnancy can make pain receptors more responsive; so, sugaring will likely feel more painful during this time.

  • To determine pricing for my services, I conducted market research, considered overhead costs which include using a high-quality, organic skincare line, and also considered my experience, schooling/certifications, and ongoing education. Additionally, all service prices are gratuity free; so, tips/gratuities are not expected or accepted.
