about me

Hi, I’m Melanie Helmer.

I am a holistic esthetician, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and student at California State University San Marcos for Biochemistry.

I have chosen to practice and offer holistic services. What does that mean? These are not random services I found on some Tik Tok. They are based on thousands of hours of training from credentialed schools, scientific research from organizations like the National Institutes of Health, and curious inquiry into the human body and how we are living. I think of holistic living as an understanding that our entire worlds and everything within our bodies are interconnected. If we are selective of what we pay attention to, we are ultimately missing out on extremely valuable information that could directly affect our physical and mental states.

I like to blend modalities, such as skincare, massage, and yoga, to help address stresses and imbalances within the body in a more complete way. If I just looked at someone’s skin and said, “let’s apply these chemicals to get rid of your acne,” I would not be fully supporting my client within my capabilities. By adding yoga and massage, I am helping to reduce stress, increase circulation, reduce inflammation, among many other benefits; I am providing my client with a deeper nervous system reset and the potential to see much better results within their skin and life.

Most importantly, I recognize that we come from all walks of life and have had different experiences, including traumatic ones. My goal is to welcome all people into my treatment room and to create an environment where clients feel safe, nurtured and supported. I believe we work best together with mutual respect and collaborative communication.

Each mask is custom made with nourishing and nutritive ingredients and mixed for each client during the facial.
